Respiratory Disease Summary

 When it comes to poultry sickness the most common complaints is that their birds are coughing, sneezing and snicking. 

There are three main respiratory diseases Infectious coryza, the common cold and chronic respiratory disease 

Infectious Coryza

Coryza is a bacterial infection. Birds which are suffering form coryza give the impression of having a severe cold. Birds infected tend to sneeze a lot, breathing is heavy and wheezy, runny nostrils and have swollen eyelids.

The disease often spreads rapidly through the coop infecting most birds. However, treating them with antibiotics is effective and soon cures the complaint.
