About Me

I like to experiment with different breeds, im very interested in genetics and love improving my stock,

I currently breed Large Fowl RIR and have a Lovely Big Cockerel Running wth 3 of this years pullets who are from an excellent laying strain their mothers are almost 3 years old and still laying like the hammers.

I also breed large fowl Coronation/light sussex, i run a large blue coronation rooster with 2 unrelated light sussex hens (1 being a utility type hen) and 2 coronation sussex pullets. Results have been variable regarding the markings on the columbian marked birds this year but most have thankfully turned out well marked after stray markings down thier backs moulted out.

I also have a quintet of silver blue/silver sussex at the minute im running a Silver blue cockerel with a silver blue pullet and 2 silver hens. I plan on using a silver rooster instead however as the blues are F1 generation although pure sussex they will throw a mix of columbian and birchen, when bred together.

I have a few more plans up my sleeve for next year regarding breeding different colours, and one i hope will help recreate a beautiful bird that people have lost interest in over the years and has become very rare i dont think there are any registered keepers in the whole of the uk as i cant find stock anywhere.

Anyway enough from me im sure you will hear me rambling on about the forums and market place, speak to you all soon Emma xx

the silkie sussex is clearly a cross of sussex and silkie... but the hen is a sussex hen with silkie feathers .., and for it being rare have u ever seen one??
